Join us for the ultimate 3-hour machine sewing workshop – the perfect introduction to the world of sewing! Gain invaluable insights into sewing machine setup, masterful bobbin winding, and impeccable seam sewing. Plus you’ll walk away with a fab tote bag you made entirely by yourself!

This is a relaxed and information class. We keep the group small (max 8), so you’ll get plenty of one-on-one attention. Bring your own sewing machine to learn on, or use one of the excellent class machines.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • how to set up a sewing machine and wind a bobbin
  • how to insert/change a needle
  • how to thread the machine
  • how to start and finish simple seams and finish off seam allowances
  • how to sew a straight line, as well as tricky curves and corners
  • how to pin properly
  • how to change stitches
  • how to hem
  • how to make a tote bag (or bunting depending on which workshop you book)

YOUR TOTE BAG:

The bag is the perfect size for taking on any shopping trip and when the cashier asks if you need a bag you can answer “no, I’ve got one here that I MADE MYSELF!”

You will get to choose from a selection of gorgeous fabrics to make your tote bag from, as well as coordinating cotton webbing for your straps. I’ll provide you with a template and you will learn how to pin and cut out a simple pattern. As well as your gorgeous tote bag,  you will also go home with an instruction sheet, including cutting dimensions, so you can whip up as many tote bags as you like on your own!
