Description

Quintessential Irish Linen is our core linen line. This stunning fabric is produced in local Mills in Northern Ireland which supplies high quality Irish linen for designers around the globe.

Quintessential Irish Linen 230 refers to the weight of this fabric. At 230gsm (grams per square meter) this is the perfect weight for beautiful trousers, dresses, skirts, unlined jackets and more.

A bright, sunny yellow shade of mid-weight linen. This fabric is named Lemon Sherbet, because it is so similar in colour to the sweets of the same name! A bright, daffodil yellow. This will make a very striking and absolutely stunning garment.
This is part of the Pick ‘n’ Mix Collection.

pattern Suggestions

Medium weight Linen lends it’s hand to so many beautiful projects, but may I suggest a few for you:

S9180 Skirt by Simplicity Patterns

Aura Dress or Skirt by Papercut Patterns

Juno Jacket by Papercut Patterns

Emerson Pants/Trousers by True Bias

And many MANY more

This weight would also be perfect for beautiful heavier napkins, cushion covers, throws or for needlework and embroidery.

CARE

It is recommended to always pre-wash your fabric prior to starting your project. I would also recommend overlocking or zig-zagging the cut ends before your wash your fabric to help cut down on fraying in the machine.

Linen is best washed at 30 degrees.

Many recommend not to tumble dry Linen, but if you choose to, do it on a low heat and remove it while it is still slightly damp and iron straight away to minimise creasing.

Lots of steam while ironing will also help remove creases.
