The MOST perfect lightweight pure white linen, made for billowy Summer shirts, blouses, tunics or dresses! I would recommend lining it in light cotton lawn if you would like to make dresses, trousers, skirts or shorts. But I wouldn’t let that put you off because it would be absolutely delightful to wear in those heady months of Summer.
This is an ex-high street fabric dead stock produced in mills in Northern Ireland.
100% Irish Linen. 150cm / 60in wide
Fabric sold per HALF METRE.
Lightweight Linen lends it’s hand to so many beautiful projects, but may I suggest a few for you:
Bondi Dress by Tesutti Patterns
Kate Top by Tesutti Patterns
Tamiko Pants/Trousers by Tesutti Patterns
Leni Top by Tesutti Patterns
Kalle Shirt by Closet Case Patterns
Maya Top by Marilla Walker
And many MANY more
It is recommended to always pre-wash your fabric prior to starting your project. I would also recommend overlocking or zig-zagging the cut ends before your wash your fabric to help cut down on fraying in the machine.
Linen is best washed at 30 degrees.
Many recommend not to tumble dry Linen, but if you choose to, do it on a low heat and remove it while it is still slightly damp and iron straight away to minimise creasing.
Lots of steam while ironing will also help remove creases.
