Description
Looking for a unique and engaging activity this half-term? Join our Valentine’s-themed sewing workshop—a perfect opportunity for your child to explore their creativity while learning the basics of sewing in a fun, supportive setting.
What They’ll Learn:
- How to sew on high-quality studio sewing machines (pre-set for easy use).
- Using fabric, ribbon, felt, and other materials to create a Valentine’s-inspired project (exact project TBC).
- Skills like pinning, cutting with scissors, and working with basic sewing tools.
While the machines will be set up and ready to go, this workshop is about trying sewing rather than learning the full ins and outs of machine setup. Ironing will be done by the teacher for safety, but your child will get hands-on experience with all other aspects of the project.
Why Sewing?
Sewing fosters creativity, builds fine motor skills, and encourages patience and problem-solving. It’s also a wonderful way for kids to express themselves and develop confidence in their abilities—all while having fun!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
- All materials needed to make the project.
- Use of the excellent class sewing machines and all sewing tools required
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
- Nothing!
Due to time restrictions it is not possible to bring your own sewing machine to this class.
SKILL LEVEL:
Level 0 – Children do not need to have any previous sewing experience.
This class is strictly suitable for children ages 7 plus only.
All ironing will be done by the teacher but children will be required to use scissors, pins and the sewing machines independently (with guidance from the teacher of course!).
We are very happy for you to leave your children whilst the class is taking place (you will need to complete a Supervision Form upon arrival), but do politely request children are collected promptly at the end of the class.
If your child is a little nervous to take the class alone you are welcome to stay for moral support too (please let me know if you would like to stay during the class).
Location:
Held in the lovely, bright and spacious Threadquarters studio! 49 Main Street, Bangor, NI. Located on the first floor.
Please click here for more details on the location and parking options (plus details about getting the train – the studio is only a 5 minute walk from Bangor Station!).
